An interview with Khalil as he releases new single“Dime Como Se Siente”

In his latest single titled “Dime Como Se Siente,” singer/songwriter Khalil continues to impress critics and fans alike with his warm tonality, earnest lyrical style and humble poeticisms – the best of which, I might add, could well be contained within the three and a half minutes this song runs.

Khalil’s voice ascends into the heavens with a simple strut, but beyond his black and white delivery, there’s very little in “Dime Como Se Siente” that I would describe as being unelaborate in nature. Like a warm ray of sunshine on an otherwise cloudy afternoon, this is one track almost guaranteed to shift your mood towards the positive no matter how many times it’s been played before.

I absolutely love the emotional depth created by the harmony between Khalil’s vocal and the guitar parts in the track, and whether you’ve been following his career thus far or are just now getting into his music for the very first time, I think it’s clear that there isn’t anything forced in his execution here.

Dime Como Se Siente” is a very relaxed composition in every way that actually counts for something – in rhythm, rhyme and tone, there’s an easygoingness to this song that you don’t hear every day on the FM dial, and that alone makes it quite the pop gem indeed.

We decided to catch up with Khalil for an interview..

What inspired you to get into music?
I’ve always been into music and had a passion for it. During this Pandemic, it’s given me the additional time I need to write and work on my craft.

How would you describe your music?
Being an Urban Latin artist that listens to a bit of every genre, I would consider my style to be a little bit of Drake, Bad Bunny, and Donell Jones.

What would you say is your recording and song writing style?
I do everything on my phone. I write as few lyrics as possible as a template and come to flow the rest as I listen to the beat. The flow would be more of the hook and once I establish the hook, I’ll fill in the rest. I keep things simple with my producers and make sure to punch in while I’m there, ready to record by having the song 90% complete. The team only has to record me and spend the rest of the time remixing.

Where would you like to see your music career in 5 years time?
I’m only 13 and I still need to be a teenager and enjoy the journey and experience the growth. In 5 years, I would want to be a more established Indie artist that was able to break the charts without being signed to a major label.

Where can music fans listen your music?
My music can be heard on many of music stream platforms:
